    Add approved senders

    In the customer area, add every address allowed to fax, including your scanner's. Emails from other addresses are not faxed.

    Turn on confirmation

    With confirmation, you get an email with page count and price before every fax. It is only sent after you click.

    PIN as extra protection

    Optionally, set a PIN as well, so that an approved address alone is not enough.

How do you stop someone from faxing in your name by email? mcpfax has three levels of protection for exactly this: approved senders, confirmation and a PIN. Let me show you each one. The first level is always active: only approved senders can fax. On top of that, you can optionally switch on a confirmation before every fax and set a PIN as well. In the customer area, you add every address that is allowed to fax, for example your own and your scanner's. If an email comes from any other address, it simply won't be faxed. You then fax with a completely normal email: fax number before the at sign, attach the document, send. You can see the address on screen. If confirmation is switched on, you first get an email with the page count and the price. The fax only goes out after you click. The transmission report follows afterwards. What happens to emails from unknown addresses?

They are not faxed. Only addresses added as approved senders in the customer area can trigger faxes.

Do I have to use confirmation?

No, it's optional. For teams or scanners with many users, however, it's a sensible second safeguard.

Is the transmission encrypted?

The connection up to mcpfax is encrypted. The fax transmission over the phone network itself is not end-to-end encrypted.
